Park Parade – Highway Improvements

For those who don’t know where Park Parade is, it’s a parade of shops diagonally opposite Gunnersbury Park at the junction of Gunnersbury Avenue (aka A406/North Circular Road) and Gunnersbury Lane/Popes Lane. It has a wonderful array of shops such as a tattoo parlour, a fireworks company, an Indian restaurant, a recruitment firm, a building company, a tool hire company, not one but two hairdressers, wood flooring shop, window/door glazier, off licence cum grocer and newsagent, an Italian pizzeria and cafe. Not forgetting two car dealerships. (Hope we haven’t missed anyone out!)

A project which started over two years is finally coming to fruition following some hiccups with the funding and officer change at Ealing Council.

THE PROPOSAL in bullet points:

  • New pavements (the small paving slabs will be replaced by larger 60x60cm slabs)
  • Double length loading bay created on the other side of the slip road with an additional parking space towards the southern end
  • Additional parking bay at the northern end (if space allows we are looking into putting an additional one plus a motorcycle bay)
  • Raised table to slow down the traffic, create a flush surface from the opposite side to the shop side (for pushchairs, wheelchairs, delivery trolleys, and general pedestrian accessibility to the shops)
  • Two new tree pits
  • No right turns at the two junctions at the top of the slip road
