Gunnersbury Park CPZ – a shambles!

The Gunnersbury Park CPZ, as voted in by residents last year, started to be enforced yesterday, 26th March. However, if you look across the zone half the bays have not been marked out nor has half the signage been installed.  However, enforcement has started.

After speaking with Parking Services, Cllr Joanna Dabrowska received confirmation that those areas which don’t have both a marked bay and a (nearby) sign are unenforceable.

Ealing Council’s Highways department has promised that it will be done by Wednesday following delays due to the cold weather but nothing has changed since last Friday.

Cllr Dabrowska has requested three issues to be resolved by Ealing Council:

  • Request to abandon enforcement ’til the whole zone has been completed
  • Communicate with all permit holders that reside in the zone about what’s happening
  • Delay the start date of the residents’ permits as residents will not be getting a full year’s worth of permit usage

Furthermore, the amusing (and worrying) thing is that the zone has had many flaws. Take a look at these. Please send your photos (with location) to us on ealingcommon@ealingconservatives.org.uk
