Ealing Council’s administration has started a consultation proposing to convert seven of its 13 libraries into community-managed libraries where the Council hopes it will be run by volunteers.
You have until 17th May to respond to the consultation.
Additionally, fellow Conservative councillor, Cllr Seema Kumar, shadow cabinet member for Council Services and Safer Communities, has set up a petition which reads as follows:
We call on Ealing Council to commit to keeping the following seven Libraries: Greenford; Hanwell; Northfields; Perivale; Pitshanger; West Ealing and Wood End open given their recent announcement that council support will be withdrawn.
We ask Ealing Council to pledge that if no viable community organisation comes forward to take over the running of these libraries, that they will continue to keep the libraries open, so that residents are able to keep using this valuable community resource.
Petition closes on 23rd March 2019
